International Trade, Law and Finance is a branch of financial economics that establishes trading relationship between two or more countries of the world. It deals with financing of import and export of goods and services, timely settlement of international financial obligations. It is concerning foreign exchange and determination of exchange rate – that is expressing a unit of a local currency in terms of other national currencies.

International Trade, Law and Finance also deals with international monetary systems of the world and foreign investments. Importantly, it provides highlight on stream of issues in the global market.

Learning Outcomes

After completing high specialization in International Business, learners will be able to:

  • Exhibit improved performances in their current managerial roles or take up career in financial services sector at the local or international level.
  • Demonstrate new theoretical and practical skills acquired to manage trade across national boundaries and international trade financing.
  • Learners would be able to determine the relative value of a local currency vis-à-vis other countries’ currencies especially their trading partners. For example, showing the ability to express a unit of a given currency in terms of any other country’s currency.
  • Learners, having a better understanding of the real economic factors are well equipped to making the best international investment decisions.
  • Learners, having been exposed to various offshore trading opportunities should be able to maximize the opportunities and minimize the risks associated with international trade.
