VIRTUAL COMPANY VISIT TO MARINA GROUP

Our commitment to finding new and innovative ways to deliver has provided our students with a sense of hope to conclude their master’s programs within the one-year duration, and this hope we continue to encourage by ensuring that all program schedules remain unaffected by the pandemic.

Changing format was initially demanding, but the majority of our executive students were able to join us for a virtual company tour to the Headquarters of Marina Group of Companies, Lagos State, on Friday 19th February 2021.

Marina Group has an operational base in Lagos Nigeria and business interests in the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. Through its subsidiaries, Marina Group provides project development and financing solutions.

Moderating the online session was Christopher Edusi, a Career Services and Alumni Relations Professional at Rome Business School Nigeria.

Among those online for the company tour were Dr. Humphrey Akanazu Country Director, RBSN; Ngozi Odukwe, Head of Career Services, Faculty members, Admission and Sales Enrolment Coordinator (Tomilola), Didactic representative (Francis), RBSN Alumni, and our Executive Students from the MBA and Master Programs.

Virtual Meeting to Marina

We began with the virtual tour with a pre-recorded video (with narration) panning across the subsidiaries of Marina Group including Halyard Atlantic, Quick Cash Savings and Loans, Yhello Communications, Agroplus Food and Farms, Green Palm Real Estate Brokers, City Haulage, H.G. & W Consultants, ISM & A Advertising, and Selectibles Emporium. Each of these subsidiaries are among the key providers of banking, education, agriculture, telecommunication, advertising, haulage services and business consulting.

We were also taken through the administrative office, customer interactive service department, the work station, conference centre, and the President’s office. The company staff were not fully present due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but a few of those available gave briefly described how they function in their various units on a daily basis.

In one of the highlights, the President of Marina Group – Dr Emerie Agunwah gave an informative and thought-provoking presentation on “Critical Thinking and Problem Solving: A Must-have for Every Successful Business” using his company as a case study. The session was very interactive and the takeaway signs were a big hit.

Company visits are included in Rome Business School’s Master program to provide our Executive Students with great opportunities to gain industry insights and expand networks.

It also provides hands-on opportunities for learning through exposure to diverse working methods, interaction with unfamiliar industries and organizational structures, and an in-depth understanding of winning company philosophies through exclusive conversations with respected leaders.
