Adeoye-Laniyan Tokunboh Paul – Interview

Adeoye- Laniyan Tokunboh Paul– MBA (International Business Management)

Adeoye- Laniyan Tokunboh’s Journey with Rome Business School

I have been on the lookout for a great MBA Program where I can learn additional and real-life transforming work and learning experience, improved work environments, business ethics, and good conduct. I was searching for a world-class institution where learning and development are practical and business transforming. I did quite some search and stumbled on the Rome Business School.

Despite being quite appealing because of its double certification of Italian and Spanish Degree as well as European Union Backing, I wanted to be sure my expectations were realistic. I did further research especially on its faculty facilitators and I discovered exactly what I wanted: An array of world-class faculty members who have had real-life business working experience and could indeed impact learning from their real business life experience (not just textbook teachings). This was very key to my personal development and decision-making.

The first few days of the lecture were quite enticing. It all started from some pre-school and pre-class Webinars. The deliveries during the webinars were compelling and further confirmed that I made the right choice.

Again, I was apprehensive of the real class learnings – and when we finally commenced class, my apprehension was turned into eventual satisfaction as lectures unfolded and the quality of learnings and real working life experience in lecture formats were pretty commendable and surpassed my expectations.

The convivial atmosphere in the lecture rooms (for example we have a classroom called “Rome” etc.), the shared experiences from a very rich and diversified class with a cumulative experience from all class participants were scenes to behold.

It is clear that the  Rome Business School Executive MBA Class of 2020 was a unique blend of experience and a very versatile team made up of experienced Bankers, Telecommunication Executives, Lawyer, Engineers, Information Technology Professional, Interior Design Engineer, Food Technologist, Accountant,  including a SPA Enthusiast gave the class a real blend of international exposure and this could be seen in the vibrancy of class discussions, robust engagements with a very strong team of faculty facilitators.

There was also a committed school support staff from the Didactics and Training Personnel readily available to give us ground support and ensure memorable teaching and learning experiences.

The Semesters started like a very long day and would take so long to close, but with the benefit of commitment and passion, it moved on slowly but surely. One point that stands out is the curriculum offered by the Rome Business School which is global and appropriate, with the numerous examples and case studies listed.

It offers best practices, current and trending global events, shared experiences with global enterprises (the facilitators relate these global enterprises with local organizations to further situate business imperatives and accentuate the essence of Globalization).

The blend of international examples of best practices with our local as well as global companies localized here gives us a much better understanding of global events and local capacities operating with global standards. Consequently, companies are called to offer Values in Return for a share of revenues, in an ever-competitive world.

We did debate various case studies to further buttress our learning experiences and understandings. After each module, we had the opportunity to test our comprehension by class assessments (in both multiple choice and theory formats) through the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) which is our exam Platform where we upload our assessments directly.

The VLE is user-friendly and we are able to view and access all modules taught in the class as reference materials. The Virtual Learning Environment also offers other global learning opportunities like getting to understand the Euro Bond as well as very critical materials from Oxford and other European Countries.

Overall, the Semesters offered very enriching learnings, very robust discussions, very engaging exchanges, and very captivating moments when some class colleagues shared personal company experiences that we used as case studies for further debates. A good piece of advice to truly be on top of your MBA Class is to avoid late attempts of required class assessment exercise and to be on top of required timing to complete and meet the assessments’ timelines.

The Class Group was a very unique chance to get to know other class colleagues better and the debates were very entertaining and diverse due to the class mix. In my group, for instance, we had a unique mixture of professionals (Lawyer, Marketer, Business Owner, Accountant, and Telecommunication Executive) and the Group Meetings reflected this diversity in our content discussions.

I was happily involved in yet another strong group and we launched a Mobile Hand Washing Booth (Snowmill V-Max Handwashing Booth) in a Product Launch Program under the company name Cattanzo Limited. We delivered the product launch with fanfare & a grand product launch. This product is relevant to the pandemic time we are living in right now.

The key advantage of Class Group is that it facilitated a great interaction among us and brought some good networking and camaraderie. Hopefully, we can ride on this networking opportunity to cement improved relationships and business opportunities.

The Rome Business School must encourage further Class Group Interaction and promote real networking as a culture of excellence. It is also recommended this should equally be developed between the learning students and the facilitators to create potential business opportunities and improve on the institution’s legacy and value creation.

The Company visits seek to provide a more practical learning experience for the students, to complement their classroom experiment. We both had physical company visits as well as virtual company tours and meetings, each with its uniqueness and peculiarity.

Each of the Company visits as well as Webinars provided an opportunity to learn, relearn and unlearn. The Webinars in particular was rich in content and quite relevant to our desire to get new ideas, new creativity, and innovation. The Webinars afforded us the opportunity to improve and apply learnings to our career, personal developments and impacting our immediate environment. It is strongly recommended to continue to bring in seasoned professionals to address gap issues in management and human capital development.

In the second semester, the introduction of the Business Showmanship added impetus to the learnings and positioning of each student business or potential business. It was the moment of truth to show to others the type of business you are personally involved in or that you wish to develop and grow.

Coming to the Rome Business School has added to my competence level in a positive manner. The various in-class business studies in the various modules, the various Webinars, and the Product Launch have impacted my career directly to the point of establishing a Distribution Network to drive business. I have equally seen great improvements in my Business Consultancy Job Role as we on-board new clients.

The Rome Business School MBA Story is a compelling story of changed, transformed, and value-added life. Based upon my personal experience, it is a strongly recommended institution of learning, and what a better time to enroll for an MBA Class than during a pandemic! The Blue Ocean strategies being discussed at this time are far more winning strategies in this dynamic time than they were over a decade ago (in my opinion).

An interesting sharing was how seamlessly we navigated to electronic class during the pandemic without any single glitch. Yet our learning and development were rewarding and transforming. The Rome Business School MBA class will greatly add to your competence level and with your character, it should just be the beginning of a ride to further greatness.
