Lagos State which has a growing megacity in Nigeria has been struggling to solve the challenges of insufficient transport infrastructure, added to the declining position of the existing ones.

The continuous excuse for this has been insufficient funding from the center, hence the need to begin to look inwards.

With growth and focus on internally generated revenue, the state is still yet to fully meet its obligation as regards the provision of this.

This triggered the investigation as to whether the growth in internally generated revenue could affect transport infrastructural development in Lagos State, with an analysis of a twenty-one-year period (1998-2018)
