Program Overview
This Canadian Business for Internationally Trained Professionals (ITP) program is being offered in collaboration between the Rome Business School Nigeria (RBSN) and the Goodman School of Business (GSB) via the Goodman Group (GG), Brock University. Niagara is one of the top destinations for individuals with a global appeal. GSB is an accredited business school by an accreditation body that is known to rank among the top business schools worldwide.
The Canadian Business for Internationally Trained Professionals program aims to supplement the experience and knowledge of the Internationally Educated Professionals (IEPs) with the North American management and leadership context. This program is aimed at and specifically designed for executives and leaders from the diverse sector of the Nigerian economy.
The Canadian Business for ITPs program content is laid out below and is to be delivered in person primarily on the Brock University campus in Canada (subject to Public Health measures).
Upon successful completion of the academic and experiential components, graduates will receive a certificate that states they have successfully met the requirements of a university-administered programs through Goodman Group.
Proposed Participant Eligibility Criteria:
- Proficiency in the English language at the Undergraduate studies level as the program is taught in English,
- Relevant work experience,
- Relevant education, at least at a bachelor’s degree.
Proposed Academic Component:
The proposed academic component is to be delivered in person, Public Health measures permitting, focusing on Canadian Business Skills. Participants will participate in courses to bolster their existing International University degree and professional work experience specific to the discipline of Canadian Business Management.

Proposed Experiential Component:
The academic component will be complemented by an experiential component and could be comprised of:
- Industry Presentation: Presentation(s) from local Canadian Partners to provide a better understanding of the practical day-to-day activities in the Canadian workplace.
- Goodman Innovation Capstone Project: consisting of one of the two following options decided upon by the professor:
- Business Plan: This will involve the creation of a company and business plan.
- Consultancy Solution: Examining Real world business problems, students shall develop solutions and consultancy reports.
Student teams are expected to create a workable proposal and present findings in 15-minutes to a panel of professors and local business persons at the end of the program.
- Mentorship: Program participants are encouraged to have at least one mentor identified ahead of the program. This person is intended to be knowledgeable in the business area and to help the program participant with content-specific questions.
