Rome Business School Nigeria International Study Tour 2022, created an enabling platform for participants to learn and relearn business management from diverse perspectives, gave participants business opportunities, network with top executives, and engage in business meetings with international investors, and venture capitalists.
The just concluded international study tour in Kigali provides an avenue for all participants to explore the beautiful cities at the forefront of innovation and the most productive startup ecosystems. They were business innovation sessions as part of the scheduled activities of an advanced international program designed to put them in business realism scenarios by professional trainers from top-class companies and partnering institutions.
The RBSN International Study Tour Experience 2022 revolve around lined-up activities, a 5 day power-packed program that helped shape our executive students through the process of enhancement in their managerial capability building making them world-class global business leaders.
The tour span from August 22nd to August 27th, 2022, it featured power-packed activities aimed at integrating the executive students of RBSN into becoming better managers and business leaders on a global scale. Some of the activities include company visits, university visits, monumental and historical visits, city tours, and top-notch training.
Visit Kigali Genocide Memorial
The first day of the tour – Tuesday 23rd August 2022 was a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place of remembrance and learning to honor victims of genocide against the Tutsi which was a profound and breathtaking experience that left a great impact on the executive students of Rome Business School Nigeria. The visitors were briefed on the history behind the genocide memorial in Kigali, a museum, and a memorial graveyard of 259,000 people lies broken beneath the foot. Walking through an exhibit that showcased children who died during the violence above each plaque was a large picture of the child, donated by the #family, and underneath, a few sentences describing the child: favorite food, favorite book, a child’s nature, best friend, last words, etc.
Visit the Private Sector Federation-Rwanda (PSF)
The Executive Students of RBSN also visited the Private Sector Federation-Rwanda (PSF) which is a professional organization dedicated to promoting and representing the interests of the Rwandan business community as part of the first day Kigali Study Tour’s power-packed activities. This opened the door to new opportunities for the executives of Rome Business School Nigeria to help them in demolishing residual knowledge and archaic methods of managing and integrating business ideas, and unleashing new business opportunities around the world to be exploited.
During the visit to Carnegie Mellon University, the Rome Business School Nigeria executive students, developed a strong affinity to do business networking with the school’s academic staff and alumni. They also learned new administrative and managerial techniques that they can leverage to successfully run a venture. The mission of Carnegie Mellon University is to educate and develop engineers through technical, interdisciplinary master’s degree program.
They met with a staff member of Zipline during a visit to the Zipline Kayonza, they were guided on the relevance of harnessing technology to solve business problems in today’s digital world, and much emphasis was made on the importance of leveraging the knowledge of robotics to solve business challenges. RBSN executive students explored and exploited the technology, programming systems, operations, and troubleshooting at Zipline as this is a great take-home expensive information they will implement in solving complex business problems.
The visit to the Kigali Convention Center was an eye-opening opportunity for executive students of Rome Business School Nigeria to link up with great business opportunities and ventures as this also tends to help expand their investments. The executive students gathered useful information to equip them through their journey to becoming global business leaders and better managers. They also experienced top-notch management and organizational structuring.
The courtesy visit to the Nigerian High Commission in Kigali was a mind-blowing one for the executive students of Rome Business School Nigeria, where they met with the Kigali Consulate to Nigeria, and had a rich discussion. This enlightens them more on the individual’s contribution and commitment to the economic growth of the Nation, Nigeria.
The Rome Business School Nigeria Executive Students had a conference, meeting with delegates of the Rwanda Development Board during their tour where they were exposed to their key services including; Investment Promotion, Export & SEZ Development, Investment Deals Negotiation, Tourism and Conservation, Skills Development, and One Stop Center services (business and investment registration, visa facilitation, EIA, tax incentives management, etc.).
The Rome Business School Nigeria Executive Students also visited the African Improved Food (AIF) in Rwanda to witness the wonderful social enterprise and learn from its business model where the staff of the AIF introduced the visitors to comprehensive organizational strategies implemented at AIF. The RBSN executive students gained insights into new strategies that can be harnessed in reducing poverty, creating jobs, and addressing malnutrition through a partnership with the AIF.
Visit the Africa Leadership University African Leadership University (ALU) aims to create transformation leaders by encouraging students to declare a mission, not a major. ALU is pioneering a new approach to higher education with a holistic experience designed to make students successful entrepreneurs, leaders, and better citizens of the world. The courtesy visit to the University campus was mind-blowing, African heritage was indeed domicile in the university, above all participants learned the fundamentals of African historical background and cultural intelligence at its peak.
There was also a session on the African Free Trade Agreement, participants were equipped with the process, regulations, and best practices for ease of doing business in the African continent
After long learning, the brain needs to be relaxed and be fed with the beauty of nature. The RBSN executive students visited the Fazenda Kigali Park aimed to let them experience different games and earn great insights into the beauty of nature. They readily exploited these great opportunities. They also enjoy their picnics in a beautiful garden or terrace surrounded by nature and facing the Nyabarongo valley, and lots of space to run around, Fazenda Sangha is also popular as a tourist place in Rwanda. These are places you should include in your itinerary when else you visit Rwanda.
