For executive professionals, some of the most valuable lessons begin when classroom theory meets the realities of the business world.
As part of their experiential learning journey, Rome Business School Nigeria Executive Master’s students recently embarked on a company visit to ELFAD Concepts, which gave them firsthand exposure to the realities of real estate development, construction and project execution.
The experience took students beyond lectures, case studies and theoretical frameworks and into active development environments, where they could observe how decisions made at the planning stage ultimately influence the execution and delivery of real-world projects.
The visit began at Sunset Villa, before continuing to Aisle Crescendo, giving students an opportunity to see different stages and considerations involved in property development.
Starting at Sunset Villa: Seeing Development Beyond the Classroom
The first stop on the company visit was Sunset Villa, where students were introduced to the practical realities of property development and construction.
While executive education provides professionals with frameworks for understanding business strategy, operations and decision-making, seeing those principles applied in an actual development environment offers an entirely different perspective.
At Sunset Villa, students were able to observe the relationship between planning, construction and project execution and gain a deeper appreciation of the decisions that contribute to bringing a development project to life.
The visit encouraged students to think beyond the finished property and consider the processes behind it.
- How are development decisions made?
- What operational considerations influence construction?
- How do professionals coordinate different aspects of a project?
- How do business, technical and financial considerations come together to determine the success of a development?
These are the kinds of questions that become more tangible when professionals step into a real project environment.
Moving to Aisle Crescendo
From Sunset Villa, the students continued to the first additional development site at Aisle Crescendo.
This second stop expanded the learning experience by giving students another practical perspective on real estate development and construction.
Rather than simply discussing project management or development strategy in abstract terms, students could see the physical environment in which those decisions are implemented.
For professionals studying at executive level, this kind of exposure is particularly valuable.
Real-world projects rarely follow a perfectly linear path. They require professionals to consider resources, timelines, quality, technical requirements, stakeholder expectations and changing circumstances — often simultaneously.
A company visit creates an opportunity for students to understand these complexities in context.
Learning Directly from Industry Professionals
An important part of the experience was the opportunity to engage with professionals working directly within the industry.
Students interacted with:
- Engr. Ayo Fasholu, Operations Manager
- Engr. Fadipe Oladele, Managing Director
- Engr. Gbolahan Adenuga, Quantity Control Officer
Their perspectives helped connect what students encounter in the classroom with the practical decisions professionals make every day.
For executive students, learning from experienced practitioners provides another layer of understanding. It allows them to examine not only what should happen according to a particular business framework, but also how those frameworks are adapted when dealing with real projects, people, resources and operational challenges.
From Business Concepts to Real-World Decisions
The company visit also demonstrated why experiential learning remains an important part of executive education.
Concepts such as operations management, strategic decision-making, project management, leadership and stakeholder management can all be discussed in a classroom.
But when students stand within an active development environment, those concepts take on a different meaning.
They can see how decisions affect execution.
They can observe how different professionals contribute to a project.
They can ask questions about the challenges encountered during implementation.
And they can begin to understand the relationship between strategic decisions and operational outcomes.
This connection between theory and practice is particularly relevant for professionals preparing to take on greater leadership responsibilities.
Building a Broader Business Perspective
The visit to Sunset Villa and Aisle Crescendo was not simply about observing construction.
It was about developing a broader understanding of how businesses turn plans into tangible outcomes.
Real estate development requires more than a good idea. It involves planning, investment, technical expertise, project coordination, quality control, operations and leadership.
For executive professionals, understanding how these elements interact can strengthen their ability to approach business challenges from multiple perspectives.
The experience therefore became more than a site visit. It became an opportunity to examine the relationship between strategy, execution and leadership in a real business environment.

Company visits and industry experiences give students opportunities to interact with organisations, professionals and real-world business environments.
The goal is to create learning experiences where knowledge is not only acquired but also observed, questioned and applied.
The journey from Sunset Villa to Aisle Crescendo provided exactly that kind of experience — connecting executive education with the realities of real estate development and construction.
Because meaningful learning does not stop when the lecture ends.
