From Research to Results: Key Moments from the RBSN Agribusiness Bootcamp at IITA*
Rome Business School Nigeria recently concluded a powerful two-day Agribusiness Bootcamp at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, on June 19–20, 2025. Designed as an immersive learning experience, the bootcamp brought together a mix of students, professionals, and agripreneurs eager to connect theory with real-world innovation.

Day 1: Exposure to Agricultural Science and Innovation
The first day began with insightful sessions on “The Key to Food Sufficiency and Good Nutrition,” setting the tone for a bootcamp centered on solutions. This was followed by a deep dive into the future of farming through a Technology Overview session. Topics covered included sustainable practices, biotechnology breakthroughs, and smart agriculture tools already in use across the continent.
Participants also had the opportunity to tour IITA’s cutting-edge research labs and facilities. Here, they observed firsthand how scientific research is being applied to improve yields, preserve biodiversity, and strengthen food systems across Africa.
Day 2: Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Partnerships
The second day shifted focus toward the business side of agriculture. Discussions revolved around agribusiness entrepreneurship, value chain innovation, and the vital role of public-private collaboration in driving scalable solutions. Throughout the sessions, participants connected with seasoned industry experts and researchers who are actively shaping the future of agriculture in Nigeria and beyond.
As the Program Coordinator aptly put it, “This bootcamp goes beyond classroom theory. It brings the science, strategy, and systems thinking needed to inspire future-forward agri-leaders.”
